What could your next chapter look like?

No financial documents needed to begin.

Austin Business Brokers Office helps owners organize the agreements behind their revenue. A buyer needs to understand what can continue after the owner and ownership structure change.

Build a contract register

List each material customer, agreement date, renewal date and termination right. Flag pricing commitments, exclusivity and any unusual service obligation.

Separate verbal arrangements from signed agreements. A strong relationship can still be valuable, but it provides different evidence from a contractual commitment.

Ask counsel to review the actual transaction

Asset sales, equity sales and changes in control can trigger different terms. Do not assume consent is unnecessary just because the customer keeps the same service team.

Decide who contacts customers and when. Broad announcements before an agreed confidentiality plan can expose the proposed sale before it is ready.

Reduce dependence on one person

Show how account managers, service records and delivery processes preserve relationships. A company supported only by the owner's personal contacts may need a longer handoff.

Compare top customer revenue over several periods. Explain concentration directly and prepare a retention plan rather than waiting for the buyer to discover the risk.
